[/size][/blockquote]The sun's light had become gentle with the comfortable shading of thin clouding. The skies were blanketed in wisps of white while the land below nearly relished in the cooled air. The thick barrier of trees on the outermost layer of the Enchanted Forest rustled with a calm breeze. Birds and flying insects took advantage of the easy flight, fluttering their small wings before taking on the easy glide.
Elswyer sat against a great bough with her faithful ocelot resting just to her side. The big cat's head rested against her leg while her body vibrated with a content purr. The new shade was much easier on the feline and she wasn't the only one to think so. Just above her there was a rustling within the leaves. A small family of squirrels appeared before disaapearing back into the foliage. An exploration of the woodland no doubt for the three smaller squirrels had followed one who was a bit larger than they. A mother showing her young the ropes. After them the quick appearance of a young lone boar came into view. The burly creature munched at some of the berries a nearby bush growed. On the brown-haired pig's back was yet another bird resting lazily.
Elswyer smiled. The forest was still alive even after all this time and hopefully it would always stay so peaceful if only for the natural residence's sakes. The ancient elf's body tensed with the thought. Her desire to protect this place of her home would always remain no matter what may happen. She had protected long before most were born and would continue to do so, there was no doubt in that. Sensing her mistress's thoughts, Kahja rose her spotted head. The dog-sized feline gave out an encouraging mrow sound. Elswyer chuckled, You will continue to protect this home of ours, won't you old friend?
The feline flicked her tail with a feline look that made the elf not help but think that she had just asked a stupid question. A purr rung in the air once more. I'll take that as a 'Of course.' The dark-haired ancient laughed, reaching to scratch the ocelot's head.
