As I'm preparing my first character's bio, there are just a couple of things I would like clarified, if possible:
1.) Physical appearance. Do angels/demons naturally look like humans in the world of this site? Or are all angels/demons equipped with some kind of basic magic that allows them to appear humanoid to humans? Does an angel look different physically when interacting with other angels when no humans are around?
2.) The "Fallen Angel" bit. Right now I'm thinking my first character will be a demon. In the species description, demons are described as fallen angels. Does this mean that my demon character was once an angel? If so, would he remember his life as an angel? Would the other angels remember him? I'm working on the back story and this bit is troubling me. Are demons not born in the world of Shade and Light? Is the only way for someone to be a demon is that they were previously an angel and they made the decision to leave Tilatari?
3.) Can demons sense who else is a demon in Kalis? And who is an angel and who is a human? Or is there some kind of magic that can cloud the identity of angels and demons to fool other beings into believing they are human? Or is it obvious to supernatural beings who else is supernatural and only humans have no idea? Or how does that all work?
And if there is no concrete answer, that's okay. I just was wondering. If need be I'll just make some executive decisions and not worry about it.

1.) Angels/demons naturally look like humans. Demons, however, because they are shapeshifters, do not have a fully solid form. Their true form is whatever you want it to look like. If they're interacting with their own kind, they generally look the same, unless you're having some sort of demonic face-off.
2.) All the demons are fallen angels (meaning they have angel blood, but a darker form of it), but not all demons are one of the Fallen, the original angels who left Tilatari of their own accord. You can make a true Fallen character whenever you want to, and all Fallen are considered to have noble blood. This doesn't mean a leadership position, but their families are generally given more respect and they are slightly more powerful then an average demon. Demons are born in Elveron. It is possible for them to have been previously human. Angels are either born, or the souls of humans in the Fields of Elysium or Isles of Blest are chosen to be reborn as angels.
3.) Angels have a natural "good" aura around them. A human would feel safe and comfortable if they were near one. Demons have an "evil" aura. Humans get that feeling that they should stop talking to this person, because something is off. They can't sense more than that. Angels and demons get "warning flag" readings off of each other, meaning that they can tell that the other is dangerous, but they don't know why unless the demon/angel actually shows their aura, like a halo or dark cloud. Fairies and elves have similar senses, but they have a more earthy aura.
Thank you for pointing out what are basically plot holes. I appreciate the help from your questions.

It seems like I'm the only person that truly cares about the elves and fairies :/

I'm going to add a question to this. Are fairies and elves immortal like demons and angels or do they have a specific lifespan like most creatures? Also can elves and/or fairies also shape-shift into animals since they are earth-based magic types?

rain: Aww, sorry. I find angels and demons much more appealing, for whatever reason. If/when I make a second character I'll have it be an elf or a faerie, I promise.

You don't have to if you don't want to. I don't think I'll be making any characters that are angels or demons because they don't really appeal to me

Amundara: yes, elves and fairies are immortal because they are one of the "legends". As answered above, demons shapeshift because they don't have a solid true form. I was talking with rain earlier, and he suggested a money system for extra powers and things, so if there is going to be shapeshifting for elves/fairies, it will probably be in there. Angels can't shapeshift either, and it takes a lot of concentration for a demon to.

you're welcome! I'm going to figure out a way to work all this info into the bio form/rules thread.
